Never Get Stranded

Registered participants can leave their car at home worry-free knowing that they have access to emergency rides through Lyft, taxi, or rental cars at no out of pocket cost to them. See program guidelines for more details.

About Emergency Ride Home

The Emergency Ride Home (ERH) Program is the commuter's insurance policy. Carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking, or taking transit to work are all better for the environment than driving alone and help reduce traffic on roadways. But what happens when someone is at work without a car and needs to get home in an emergency? ERH participants can rest assured – they’ll never be left stranded.

Qualified participants can pre-register for ERH and commute worry-free knowing that they will have access to emergency rides through Lyft, taxi, or rental cars at no out of pocket cost.

Participants receive complete instructions when they register. Details about eligibility, what qualifies as an emergency, where the service covers, and how to book a ride are all included.

Pre-registration in ERH is required for all participants. Click here to sign-up now.

How It Works

  • When an emergency arises at work and you need to get home immediately (or if your carpool partner needs to leave suddenly and you have no way of getting home), call the ERH Dispatch number provided for you when you register for the program.
  • Provide Dispatch with your contact information, where you are located, where you need to go and what service you’d like to use (Lyft, Taxi or Enterprise Rent-a-Car).
  • Complete your Confirmation Report and email it within 5 days to info@ecommuter.org in order to be eligible to use the program again.
